How to put PDF pages in the right order before you merge
The most common merge mistake is joining files in the wrong order and having to start again. Set the order first and you only merge once.
Reorder files before merging
- Open Merge PDF and add your files.
- Each file appears in a list. Use the up and down buttons to move it, or drag the row to a new position.
- Use the remove button to take out a file you added by mistake.
- When the list is right, press the merge button.
On a phone, the up and down buttons are usually easier than dragging.
If the pages inside one file are in the wrong order
Merge keeps each file’s pages as they are. To rearrange pages within a single file, use Organize PDF. To drop pages you do not want, use Remove pages.
A quick checklist
- Name your files in the order you want, such as 1-id, 2-cv, 3-transcript. It makes the list easy to read.
- Check the form’s required order before you start.
- Open the merged file and flip through it before you upload.
